Dr. Timor Sharan
Dr. Timor Sharan is the co-Founder and Director of HAMRAH Network, which supports Afghan civil society organisations providing protection and services to marginalised groups. A development practitioner, policy analyst, and civil society leader originally from Afghanistan, he has over 15 years of experience managing large-scale programmes for various donors, serving as Deputy Director-General for Policy and Programmes at the Independent Directorate of Local Governance, and working as Senior Policy Analyst for Afghanistan at the International Crisis Group. In 2020, he founded the Afghanistan Policy Lab, the country’s first policy hub focused on experimental research and policy modelling. He has served on the boards of several non-profit organisations, most recently Too Young To Wed. He holds a PhD in Politics from the University of Exeter and an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge.
